📌 Issue/Question: How do I review, edit, or create a compliance profile in TrustLayer?

1. Quick Answer

✔️ You can review, edit, or create a compliance profile by navigating to Workspace Settings > Compliance Profiles and using the available templates or building one from scratch.

2. Step-by-Step Instructions

1️⃣ Step 1: Access Compliance Profiles

Go to System Settings, click the dropdown, select Workspace Settings, then choose Compliance Profiles.

2️⃣ Step 2: Review or Edit an Existing Profile

Click on the name of a profile or the three dots next to it. From here, you can:

  • Add or remove requirements using the dropdown menus.

  • Select pre-built or custom requirements.

  • Edit limits or coverage details as needed.

3️⃣ Step 3: Add Modules or Create a New Profile

To keep documentation types separate, click New Compliance Profile. Disable unneeded fields and select only the modules relevant to the new profile (e.g., contracts, W-9s).

4️⃣ Step 4: Customize Requirements

For each requirement:

  • Use drop-downs to adjust settings.

  • Select "Physical" for items that require attachments.

  • Use checkboxes where AI extraction applies, such as "Additional Insured."

5️⃣ Step 5: Optimize for Risk Tiers

Duplicate a profile to create tiered versions (e.g., low, medium, high risk). Click the three dots next to a profile > Duplicate, rename it, and edit as needed.

3. Troubleshooting & FAQs

💡 Common Issue 1: Not sure which requirements to include?

Solution: Involve your insurance broker. They can guide you based on risk exposure and business needs.

💡 Common Issue 2: Too many waived items in submitted documents?

Solution: Review your profiles and remove "nice-to-have" items that aren’t consistently provided. Consider only including true "must-haves."

💡 Common Issue 3: Unclear where AI extraction applies?

Solution: Use checkbox-based requirements for structured data (like “Additional Insured”) and physical uploads for custom documents.
