📌 Issue/Question:

How does the document request portal work for submitting and managing compliance documents in TrustLayer?

1. Quick Answer

✔️ The document request portal provides a unique link for your parties to upload required documents directly, track requests, and complete compliance tasks for specific projects or parties.

2. Step-by-Step Instructions

1️⃣ Step 1: Locate the Document Request Portal

After sending a document request, navigate to "Projects," select your project (e.g., "United States Concert Tour"), and view the request list.

2️⃣ Step 2: Open the Request Details

Click on the desired request (e.g., insurance request) to access detailed information and the document portal interface.

3️⃣ Step 3: Share the Portal Link

The recipient receives an email with a link to the document portal. The portal is unique to the party and request.

4️⃣ Step 4: Document Upload and Instructions

  • From the portal, the party can upload the required documents (e.g., insurance certificates, W-9).

  • The portal displays a customizable message, which can be set globally under Workspace Settings > Send Request, or edited for individual requests.

  • Parties can see all open requests—use the drop-down within the portal to toggle between multiple requests (e.g., insurance, W-9, global onboarding).

5️⃣ Step 5: Review Compliance Information

For project-specific requests, the portal will show additional requirements like certificate holder details or attributes needed for compliance.

6️⃣ Step 6: Submit and Manage Documents

Parties can select and upload documents, review requirements, and access information for any projects they are associated with—all from the portal landing page.

3. Troubleshooting & FAQs

💡 Common Issue 1:

Party did not receive the email with the portal link.

Solution: Check the email address for accuracy and ask the party to check their spam/junk folder. Resend the request if needed.

💡 Common Issue 2:

Portal does not show the correct project or request.

Solution: Use the dropdown within the portal to toggle between different party and project requests. Ensure all requests were properly sent and associated.

💡 Common Issue 3:

Needing to update the portal instructions/message.

Solution: Edit the message before sending the request or update the global default under Workspace Settings > Send Request.
