📌 Issue/Question:
How can I edit or customize the default and request-specific messaging shown on the TrustLayer document upload portal?
1. Quick Answer
✔️ You can edit the default portal messaging in Workspace Settings > Portal, and customize messaging for individual requests when sending emails to parties.
2. Step-by-Step Instructions
1️⃣ Step 1: Edit Default Portal Messaging
Go to "Workspace Settings" and select "Portal."
Update the global landing page message with instructions or relevant information for document uploads.
Click "Save Changes" to apply your new default message—this will show on all party portals by default.
2️⃣ Step 2: Preview or View Portal Message on a Request
Go to "Parties," select a party (e.g., "Fleetwood Mac"), and click on a request.
Click "Portal" to view how the global message appears on the upload page for that request.
3️⃣ Step 3: Customize Messaging for a Specific Request
When creating and sending a new request, you can edit the email message that will be sent to the party.
Enter a custom message if you want unique instructions or updates for this request.
Note: This custom message applies to the email notification; only the default portal message appears on the landing page unless changed globally.
4️⃣ Step 4: Save and Send Changes
After updating the global message or adding a custom message to a request, save or send as appropriate.
3. Troubleshooting & FAQs
💡 Common Issue 1:
The portal message update isn’t displaying for all requests.
→ Solution: Global portal messaging changes only apply to new requests or refreshed portals; make sure you've clicked “Save Changes” in settings.
💡 Common Issue 2:
Need to customize instructions for a specific party or request.
→ Solution: Add a custom message when sending the request email—this will apply only to that communication.
💡 Common Issue 3:
Confusion between portal message and email message.
→ Solution: The portal message is the landing page text in the portal; the email message is a separate, optional message sent to the party’s inbox.
