V2 Using @Mentions, Flags, and Activity Timeline

How do I use @mentions, flags, and the activity timeline to communicate within TrustLayer?

Updated this week

1. Quick Answer

✔️ You can communicate in TrustLayer by using @mentions (sends email + in-app notifications), flags (mark issues on documents), and the activity timeline (track all communications and alerts).

2. Step-by-Step Instructions

1️⃣ View Activity Timeline

  • Open a party (example: ABC Company).

  • Click Activity to see the timeline of all actions and communications.

2️⃣ Send an @Mention in Activity

  • Inside the party → go to Activity → type @username and your message.

  • Example: @Ilaria Hi, is it okay if I waive XYZ requirement?

  • Click Add Comment.

  • This sends the user an email notification and a bell notification in TrustLayer.

3️⃣ Use @Mentions or Flags in Documents

  • Open a party → go to Documents → select a document (e.g., COI).

  • Click Flag and choose the module (e.g., Workers Comp).

  • Add a note with or without @mention.

    • With @mention → notifies the tagged user and links them directly to that section.

    • Without @mention → just creates an internal flag.

4️⃣ Manage Flags

  • On the party screen, flagged documents show a flag icon.

  • Hover over the flag to see the note/question.

  • To remove a resolved flag: open the document → clear the flag.

  • Once removed, it disappears from reports and the party screen.

5️⃣ Filter by Flags

  • On the Parties screen, click Filter → Flags → High Severity (or other levels) to quickly locate flagged issues.

3. Troubleshooting & FAQs

💡 Common Issue 1: I @mentioned someone, but they didn’t see it.

Solution: Confirm they are an active user in TrustLayer. Only users inside the platform can be tagged.

💡 Common Issue 2: My flag isn’t showing on the party.

Solution: Make sure you clicked Add Flag after typing your note. Refresh the party screen to confirm it appears.

💡 Common Issue 3: I removed a flag, but it still shows in reports.

Solution: Ensure the flag was removed directly from the document. It should disappear automatically once cleared.
