V2 Waives and Overrides

πŸ“Œ Issue/Question: How do I waive or override compliance requirements in TrustLayer?

Updated this week

1. Quick Answer

βœ”οΈ You can waive or override a compliance requirement from either a vendor request or project, add notes and expiration dates, and choose whether the decision applies to a single request, all requests, or all projects.

2. Step-by-Step Instructions

1️⃣ Go to the party or vendor screen – Select the vendor or party whose requirements you want to review.

2️⃣ Open a request or requirement – Click into the specific request or document requirement that is non-compliant.

3️⃣ Choose Waive or Override –

  • Waive if the requirement does not apply.

  • Override if partial coverage is acceptable but not fully compliant.

4️⃣ Add details – Enter notes explaining the decision and (optionally) select a date when the waiver/override should expire.

  • If no date is set, the decision remains permanent until manually removed.

5️⃣ Apply scope – Decide if the waiver/override applies to:

  • A single request

  • All requests for the party

  • All projects tied to the party

6️⃣ Confirm your decision – Once applied, the waived/overridden status will display next to the requirement, and you’ll see the record in the activity timeline along with your notes.

7️⃣ Alternative method – From the documents screen, use the three-dot menu next to each requirement to apply a waiver or override.

3. Troubleshooting & FAQs

πŸ’‘ Common Issue 1: I don’t see the option to waive/override.

β†’ Solution: Make sure you are viewing the correct project or request. Waivers and overrides must be applied in the correct context (request-specific or project-specific).

πŸ’‘ Common Issue 2: My waiver/override disappeared earlier than expected.

β†’ Solution: Check if an expiration date was added. If so, the waiver/override automatically expired on that date. Remove or extend the date if needed.

πŸ’‘ Common Issue 3: I want to apply the same waiver/override across multiple requests.

β†’ Solution: Use the scope option to apply your decision to all requests or all projects for that party, instead of just one.
